Abstract

How To Work And Care Of Batteries To Support Engine Performance KN.SAR SADEWA 231 National Agency for Search and Rescue Semarang Battery is an electrical cell in which a reversible (reversible) electrochemical process can be performed with high efficiency. The process of converting chemical into elektric power is occured inside the battery. Otherwise it can be change fromelectric power into chemical . In this paper, the author aims to know, namely: how the battery works, how the battery care system, how the battery charging system, and how the system application of the battery in series and parallel. The method of this paper is by collecting and observing battery operation and maintenance on KN.SAR SADEWA 231. Data collection is obtained from interviews aboard and from offices. In the observation method is done directly on the object on the ship. Observations are made during the life of the generator engine. At the time of turn on, the battery as its main source. The conclusion of this paper is the battery is a source of electricity that produces voltage by means of work that converts chemical energy into electrical energy and has a maintenance system for long battery life. The battery has three methods and application to charg in series and parallel. The battery height must always be checked and controlled because it will influence the system of battery performace .
