Abstract

Turbocharger is a piece of equipment, to increase the amount of air enters the cylinder by harnessing the energy of the exhaust gas pressure. If previously relied on air intake vacuum formed because the piston movement in the intake stroke, the turbocharger air is pressed into the cylinder using a compressor that is rotated by the exhaust gas turbine. In order to maintain the performance of the turbocharger, it is necessary to do maintenance and checks. So important role in supporting the turbocharger on diesel engine performance, it is necessary to check and maintenance in order to stem fixed maximum engine performance. The treatment includes: maintenance of the lubricating oil, maintenance on the turbine and compressor side, as well as other treatments. Checking the intercooler was required in order to determine whether the air generated turbocharger really good. Clean the air filter is also important to preserve the cleanliness of the air entering the turbocharged so that no foreign objects come inside. Following the regular maintenance, it will be detected nothing whatever be the result of the treatment, the cause of the damage, and the solution of turbocharger damage. From these results we expected similar damage does not happen again because it has found a solution. It is also expected engine performance also remained stable, due to regular maintenance routine.
