Abstract

Employee performance is influenced by several factors including work motivation, work environment, discipline and competence. Of the four, it has an important role in improving performance with satisfactory results. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of work motivation, work environment, discipline, and competence on the performance of employees loading and unloading dry bulk at Tanjung Mas Semarang Port partially and simultaneously. In this study the population of the study were dry bulk loading and unloading employees at the Port of Tanjung Mas Semarang with sampling systems with a total of 100 respondents (samples). The variables in the study consisted of: Variable work-free motivation (X1), work environment (X2), discipline (X3) and competence (X4) and bound variables namely employee performance (Y). Data collection method used is by questionnaire method. The results of analysis with SPSSV program statistics tools.24 obtained multiple linear regression equation Y = 0.494 + 0.210X 1+ 0.218X2 + 0.271X3 + 0.258X4 + µ The results of multiple linear equations show that there is a positive and significant influence between work motivation on employee performance (t count 2,041> t table of 1.98498), work environment on employee performance (t count2,228> t table of 1.98498), discipline on employee performance (t count2,925> t table of 1.98498), competence on employee performance (t counts 2,696> t table is 1.98498), individually the variables of work motivation, work environment, discipline and competence jointly influence the employee's performance by F. Calculate at 39.999 > f table at 2.47. The influence of the four research variables is very strong with the coefficient (Adjusted R Square) obtained by 61.2% on employee performance and 38.8%.
