Abstract

The control system of the ship must have specifications capable of stabilizing the dynamics of the ship. The ship can move shakily because of the outside influence that works on the ship. The task of the control system is to make the ship follow the direction of the predetermined angle. Designing tracking control autopilot is still a challenge in the field of ship control systems, because the sea has different characteristics from the land so it requires a pretty good autopilot. From the many control systems that exist on the ship in this final project discussed the motion direction control system of ships to the north. The angle is determined through a laptop controller located in the ship operator's room. This is so that the ship can move autonomously when it is on a constant route. When the ship experiences interference from outside which causes the ship to change direction from the initial angle, the ship can automatically return to its original angle. The ship prototype can be controlled autopilot with a laptop as the user interface where the communication uses wireless with a frequency of 433 MHz, without using a remote control. The ship can follow the direction of motion and correct the direction of motion errors in the event of a disruption to the ship. HMC5883L digital compass sensor will continue to read the actual angle value of the ship. The angle control system found on the ship can go to the intended angle according to the set point. When following the angle of the ship, it moves at 2 m / s. From the results of several experiments, one of the best data results was chosen, namely in the first experiment with a rise time of 26 seconds, a set time of 33 seconds, and no overshoot. Keywords: autonomous, autopilot, wireless, remote control, tracking control, sensor, ship angle position,
