Abstract
Operation and Maintenance System for Steering Machines Bea dan Cukai Tanjung Balai Karimun The ship's steering is a ship tool used to change and determine the direction of the ship's movement, both straight and turn the ship. The ship's driver is placed at the back of the hull / stern behind the ship's propeller. . Based on the background of the problem on the steering engine, problems can be formulated including oil leakage on the hydraulic tank and high oil temperature which results in the operation of the steering gear not working optimally. The purpose of this paper is to find out oil leaks in hydraulic tanks and high oil temperatures. Therefore, the authors conducted interview observations and data documentation during the practice at Tanjung Balai Karimun Customs and Excise. In this paper it can be concluded that the causes of oil leaks in the hydraulic tank include the cylinder ram seal on the hydraulic ram type steering wheel and the seal in the rotary vane pump damaged and high oil temperature due to abnormal oil parameters or low oil levels in the system . And it is recommended to always carry out routine checks and maintenance on the steering engine. Keywords : leakage, oil, temperature, steering.
