Abstract

CAUSE OF TEMPERATURE OF LUMAS OIL ON MACHINE PARENT KM. DHARMA KENCANA II Lubricating oil is a liquid used as a lubricant in a engine to reduce wear due to friction, and as a coolant and silencer, but high temperatures on the engine will damage the lubricant. When the lubricant power is reduced, the friction will increase and then the heat will arise more and more so that the temperature continues to increase. Various types of lubricants are marketed. Therefore, research on the relationship of lubricant type to engine temperature to compare the type of lubricant which can maintain a good engine temperature by using 3 different types of lubricants on a main engine. For the type of temperature on the cylinder head relatife stable with no significant temperature changes in the cylinder block the temperature was changed at mid-time but at the time of cylinder block temperature temperature decreased from 63˚C to 62˚C whereas at the temperature of relatife stable lubricating oil increased temperature as much as 4˚C, but at the end of recording the temperature returns to 50˚C. for the temperature on the cylinder head relatife up and down even in the hour back terakir at the initial temperature. while the relative lubricating oil temperature even though at 5 o'clock experience increase in temperature 4˚C but at the end of recording the temperature back to the beginning to 50˚C. Keywords: Type of lubricant oil, temperature, ship engine.
