Abstract

System Operation And Maintenance Oily Water Separator To Minimize Sea Pollution On Board Ss. Barakuda Pt. Seascape Surveys Indonesia Oily Water Separator (OWS), an oil and water separator, is an equipment on board with the tool aimed at reducing pollution and sea pollution. The system works to separate the two elements that are not mutually inseparable from each other because of differences in mass type (density). In this case the fluid in question is oil and water, where the specific gravity of the water is greater than the specific gravity of the oil so that when the separation process occurs the water will be at the bottom and the oil will be at the top. Reminiscent of the importance of these tools, the purpose of this paper is to find out about the disturbances in oily water separator components that interfere with its performance. The maintenance and repair of Oil Water Separator (OWS) is always carried out according to the set schedule so that wastewater does not exceed the prescribed limits. After routine maintenance of the Oily Water Separator (OWS) aircraft, it is expected to reduce the risk of damage to the components and extend the service life and produce optimal separation of water and oil and oil. And produce sewerage does not exceed 15 PPM. Key words : Oily Water Separator (OWS),Operation,Maintenance,Pollution in the Sea
