Abstract
The importance of hydrant maintenance on the ship to anticipate fire on the ship KN Suar 05 Distrik Navigasi Class III Cilacap Hydrant is a fire fighting system that still uses high-pressure water media. Hydrant is also a device or terminal for emergency assistance during a fire. In this way it is expected that the fires that occur can be handled in order if want become bigger. Hydrant is the important equipment to prevent the fire, so it must be placed on the important place. Hydrant is a vital tool and must remain in optimal condition. Preparation in Hydrant operation must be properly arranged neatly, because this greatly affects to the operation of hydrant it self when the fire has occurred on board. Maintenance must also be taken thoroughly and periodically. Checking component components in the Hydrant system must be done regularly. This is done so that there is no problem when the Hydrant is used. In the preparation of this paper the author uses the method of data collection by means of observation and interviews, data collection was carried out when the author carried out the practice in the Class III Navigation District of Cilacap. At the time of data collection the author interviewed several crew on board, because at that time ship problems often occurred. After observing the author has data data that are used as the final task of making papers. Therefore, when doing the practice, the writer always makes a note of what problems occur. Hydrants must be ready to use at any time because fire is an emergency. Therefore the Hydrant must remain in optimal condition. Because with optimal conditions Hydrant will work well when used. Therefore maintenance for the Hydrant must be maintained both of overall and regular maintenance, because Hydrant is the most efficient tool to overcome when a fire occured.
