Abstract

Additional functions of the turbocharger to the motor that can reduce SFOC (Specific Fuel Oil Consumption), reduce vibration, and increase efficiency. The working principle of the turbocharger is the exhaust gas from the diesel engine flowing into the gas inlet cashing to drive the turbocharger turbine, after the turbine moves the fluid flow will come out through the gas outlet cashing. Because the turbine rotates, the turbine shaft that has been connected to the compressor will automatically rotate the compressor impeller. So that the outer air enters through the casing water inlet, due to the rotation of the gas fluid compressor to be pressurized and can supply to the diesel engine. In writing this final assignment, we will discuss the technical analysis of turbocharger turbine design by varying the turbine rotation speed of 5000 rpm, 10000 rpm, 15000 rpm, 20000 rpm 25000 rpm and 30000 rpm. While the mass flow rate fluid is adjusted by the exhaust gas mass flow rate based on engine conditions 100%, 85%, 75% while the mass flow rate is 1.7 kg / s, 1.45 kg / s and 1.28 kg / s. The number of blades and blade diameter has been determined and does not change the angle of each turbine rotation. Analyze using Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD) by entering predetermined values. By producing RPM rotation when the engine power is 75%, the rotation is 18944 RPM, When the engine power is 85%, the rotation is 22346 RPM. When the engine power is 100%, it is 26956 RPM.
