Abstract
Use of Electric Welding to Support the Repair of Motor Vessel BBC AMETHYST at PT. Arpeni Pratama Ocean Line Tbk. In the world of shipping many things must be considered both in terms of quality and quantity as in the case of welding. Welding is widely used to connect metals. But not all metals can be connected by welding processes, especially different types of metals. Differences in melting temperature and other physical properties make the process of welding different types of metals difficult. Need to pay attention to all forms of factors that can affect the quality and quantity of objects. Welding in shipping can be seen from many aspects, namely welding of the hull in the form of joints between plates, ivory joints, and in piping equipment, namely connecting between pipes, welding pipes with vessel walls, all of them are welding work in shipping. Key words: electric welding, ship repair.
