Abstract
The increasing number of traffic accidents that happen in Indonesia along with the increasing number of motorized vehicles operating. Motorbikes can be the biggest threat to accidents that happen on the road and become the highest contributor to victims. At least eight out of ten traffic accidents that happen involve motorbikes. At least eight out of ten traffic accidents that occur involve motorbikes. This study aims to determine driving attitudes, driving understanding, driving knowledge and the role of the family in the behavior of safety riding in Bangilan 1 Public High School students in Tuban, East Java. Dependent variable data collection (safety riding behavior) and independent variables (driving attitude, driving understanding, driving knowledge, family role) using research instruments in the form of questionnaires. This research is quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of SMA 1 Bangilan, while the sample was randomly selected students with 79 people and rounded up to 100 people. The results obtained through the multiple linear regression equation Y = 0.368+ 0.183X1 + 0.195X2 + 0.285X3 + 0.248X4 + µ which means that there is a partial positive effect on driving attitude towards riding safety behavior thitung (2.767)> ttabel (1.98494 ), driving understanding of riding safety behavior thitung (2,559)> ttabel (1,98494), driving knowledge of riding safety behavior thitung (4,011)> ttabel (1,98494), family's role in riding safety behavior thitung (2,950)> ttabel (1,98494). The influence of the four research variables is very strong with the correlation value of the determination coefficient (Adjusted R square) of 52.6. This means that the driving attitude variable (X1), driving understanding (X2), driving knowledge (X3), family role (X4) has a contribution of 52.6% in influencing riding safety behavior (Y). While other factors that influence the safety riding behavior are (100% - 52.6%) = 47.4%. Keywords: driving attitude, driving understanding, driving knowledge, family role and safety riding behavior
