Abstract
Care System and Operation of Oil Water Separator in KM. Dharma Kencana PT. Dok janata Marina Indah (JMI) Oil Water Separator or OWS is an oil cleaning / separating machine that contains water content in the engine room of the vessel, the requirements of the 1978 marpol ANNEX-1 (regulation No. 1). Based on the background of the problem in the Oil Water Separator, the problem can be formulated between the pressure of the high separator tank due to the filter inside the tank and the lack of air pressure to the three-way valve in the Oil water Separator. The purpose of this paper is to determine the pressure of high separator tanks and can anticipate the occurrence of disturbances in the three-way valve on the Oil Water Separator work system. In this paper it can be concluded that the cause of the separator tank pressure is high due to the dirty filter in the coaliscer tank and the cause of the lack of air pressure to the three-way valve in the OWS due to the rupture of the membrane on the reducer valve which causes the air to exit as we want. And it is recommended to always carry out routine checks and treatments on the components of Oil Water Separator. Keywords: Oil water separator, due to ows damage, ows maintenance
