Abstract
TREATMENT OF EXHAUST VALVE IN KM. GERBANG SAMUDERA 1 PT. GERBANG SAMUDERA SARANA SURABAYA The exhaust gas valve is one of the valves contained in a diesel engine, either a two-step diesel engine or a four-step diesel engine. This valve functions as the exit gate for combustion gases in the cylinder that can come out optimally. This valve has mechanically structured working conditions that are resistant to high exhaust gas temperatures and metal collisions with metal. The problems faced in the maintenance of the main engine are so complex, for example, as the exhaust gas temperature rises, the discharge of black exhaust gas from the chimney, and the lack of pressure from the rinse air entering the combustion chamber of the main engine. But this can be anticipated by understanding how to take good care. In this paper, the author tries to analyze and solve the above questions in the hope that the awareness of the parties related to ship and shipping machinery is aware of the importance of efforts to treat exhaust gases to the smooth operation of the main engine. In accordance with the instruction manual diesel main engine 6EL38 book. Then checking the exhaust gas valve must be done periodically so that valve performance is always optimal, every 1000 hours of work is carried out inspection, regulation and repair of the valve. However, in certain conditions the examination can be done not according to the time recommended in the instruction manual book, but based on the conditions of the diesel motor.
