Abstract
CAUSE OF DAMAGE TO RAMP DOOR AND HIS MAINTENANCE KM. DHARMA KENCANA KM. DHARMA KENCANA is a Ro-Ro (Passanger Ship) type ship that has a Semarang - Kumai - Sampit shipping route she is capable of carrying passengers and vehicles in relatively large quantities. To facilitate access in and out of the vehicle to be transported, the vessel is equipped with four steel wire rope system door ramps. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the damage and how to maintenan the ramp door. Damage and maintenance of the ramp door must be known the cause and how to treat it. The method used by the author in compiling this paper uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained by the author through direct observation on ramp door in KM. Dharma Kencana and through interviews with the ship's engineer. Secondary data is obtained through particular ships, manual books, maintenance management books and company data. Based on data obtained by the author. the damage that occurs in the ramp door is an electric motor burning due to overloading, the other damage is a pump and a leaky hydraulic pipe. Ramp door maintenance and repairs carried out include: current checking, insulation resistance checking, temperature checking, bearing replacement, painting on the ramp door, lubrication using grease in wire rope.
