Abstract
INCINERATOR CARE AND IMPROVEMENT TO REDUCE WASTE POLLUTION IN THE SEA PT. JANATA MARINA INDAH Incinerator is a garbage burner that is operated by using combustion technology at a certain temperature, so that the waste can burn out. Incineration and processing of other high temperature waste is defined as thermal processing. So much pollution in the sea caused by passing ships, forced the international body to deal with the problem of sea pollution to tighten regulations regarding the disposal of waste from ships. Through the laws listed in MARPOL (marine pollution) for each ship with a certain gross tonage and through certain waters it is required to be equipped with an incinerator. The purpose of this study is to find out how to care for the incinerator to improve its performance in the prevention of pollution in the sea, the beautiful PT. Janata Marina used is to use the observation method. The results of the study were to determine the maintenance activities of the incinerator components. The research conclusions obtained by the authors are that in an effort to improve the performance of the Incinerator, periodic maintenance and repairs need to be carried out in accordance with the Intruction Manual Book, so that marine pollution problems can be prevented.
