Abstract

Overhaul of Fresh Water Generator MT ASPIRE Pt. Dok dan Perkapalan Surabaya (PERSERO) "Fresh Water Generator Overhaul is the result of a freshwater production agreement through checking and repairing all components related to the Fresh Water Generator compilation of vessels carrying out annual docking in a shipyard" (Suparwo Wahyu-2017). Based on the background of the problem in the Fresh Water Generator, problems can be formulated between decreasing freshwater production and the presence of salt deposits in the condenser. The purpose of discussing this is to solve the problem of freshwater production and to find out how to deal with deposits in the condenser. Therefore the author conducted interview observations and data documentation during the practice at PT. DOK AND PERKAPALAN SURABAYA (PERSERO). In this paper it can be concluded that the cause of the decline in freshwater production is in the Fresh Water Generator because of the low air pressure on the ejector pump and the presence of salt deposits in the condenser. And the suggestion is to always carry out routine checks and maintenance on the components of the Fresh Water Generator. Key word : Fresh water production, Overhaul, Maintenance
