Abstract

PENGOPERASIAN DAN PERAWATAN BOILER DI MV.TIGA RODA Disusun Oleh : Riky Dwi K Nrp:145220147 Boiler is a thermal engine that transfers chemical energies or automated energy into an effort (Muin 1988: 28). Boiler is a closed vessel-shaped device used to produce steam. Steam is obtained by heating a vessel containing water with fuel (Yohana and Askhabulyamin 2009: 13). Boilers convert chemical energies into other forms of energy to produce effort. Boiler designed to conduct or remove the heat from a combustion source, which is usually fuel. The operation and maintenance of the steam boiler is done to avoid errors in operation resulting in high pressure steam. High pressure steam happens because of several factors, one of them is because the kettle water is too full and it makes the hot water come back to the casecade because the water is too hot, the pump can not pump water into the boiler. So here is the pump maintenance needed to support the boiler performance in MV.TIGA RODA. The results of analysis and research proves that it is important to know how to turn on the boiler correctly, so when the boiler is working no excessive heat can interfere the pump performance due to high heat and pressure. It is also important to maintain the pump periodically to avoid high pressure steam, a condition when the boiler becomes hard to control. Keywords: boiler, condensor, feed pump, service pump.
