Abstract

Generator is a system that produces electric power with the input of mechanical power So here the generator serves to convert mechanical power into electric power. The generator is devided into two based on the electric current generated, namely: 1.Alternating current generator 2Dirrect current generator The working principle of the generator is when the rotor is rotated then the wire windings will cut the magnetic forces at the magnetic pole, so there is a voltage difference, on the basis of which the electric current arises, the current through the cable / wire whose two ends are connected to the shear ring. On the rings shift the brushes, as the connecting terminal out. (Indonesian-marine-engineer.blogspot.com/2009/.maintenanceofgenerator) In order to maintain the performance of the generator, it is necessary to do maintenance and checking. Since the generator is very important in lighting systems and also the performance of diesel engines, care and checking needs to be done so as not to interfere with daily activities on board including loading and unloading process. These treatments include: How to care and generator checks, problems that often arise in generatot, learn what components are often damaged. After periodic maintenance, it will detect anything that results from maintenance, such as: Keeping the generator working optimally, avoiding the occurrence of more severe damage / large, minimize damage to the generator. Then from doing the treatment is expected we can know the components - components what often happens damage. Keywords :Generator
