Abstract

Fire (Fire) is a chemical reaction that comes from the three elements of the fire triangle is a combustible material, tempratur heat, and oxygen. Fires are divided into four classes are divided based materials are burned or burning media. Fire suppression can be done by way of cooling, the covering, the termination of fuel flow and termination of the chain reaction of fire. Fires as early as possible dealt with a portable fire extinguisher, so that the fire can be controlled to note also the effect of the wind, the color of smoke, and fire. The exercises on the ship is very important. This study will give lessons to the crew of the means of active protection (in the form of: detectors and alarms, fire hydrant and fire pump, sprinkler and fire extinguisher), a means of passive protection (such as: doors, stairs, driving directions and road emergency exit) and the management of fire prevention ( such as: fire-fighting organization, procedure and practice management of fire prevention) with SOLAS standards in '74. Results of analysis and research has shown that the importance of understanding and tackling the crew in the face of fire is influenced by the availability and condition of fire extinguishers and fire fighting exercise routine that is carried on board. The need for certificates supporting the abilities and skills of each ship's personnel .Diadakannya exercises fire suppression (fire drill) routinely aboard the aim of the exercise is to enhance the skills and knowledge of the ship's entire crew of fire extinguishers, as well as ways of coping the danger of fires onboard, therefore maintenance of fire extinguishers must be fully implemented, checked kadarluarsanya, so any time it used to function properly and are always ready for immediate use.
