Abstract

Fresh Water Generators on board is one of the auxiliary machinery to convert sea water into fresh water through the refining process, namely, the evaporation in the evaporator and condensing within the condenser. The aircraft has a very important role in the smooth operation of the ship, where the operation of the ship can not be separated from the need for fresh water. So important is the role of Fresh Water Generators on board then need to be checked and maintenance in order to keep maximum performance. The treatment includes : Care of the evaporator pipe and check for leaks in the condenser pipe, faucet kekedapan care while doing maintenance, checking the ejector pump was required in order to determine the low pressure sea water. Cleaning uses chemical materials, clean the condenser from possible damage when clogged dirt so cleaned and repaired immediately. The purpose of this study was to determine the things that causes decreased production of Fresh Water Generators (Nurdin, H, 2000). The results obtained from this study is the cause of a disturbance handover heat on Fresh Water Generators in because are planted in sea water was dirty and contain high levels of salt are very high that cause the crust and corrosion so it does not reach the heat absorption normal to achieve optimal results.
