Abstract
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) (1992), fire as the events contained in the air oxidation and heat which may result causing property damage or human injury or even death. A fire could occur because of three interrelated elements, namely fuel, ignition source (heat or flame) and oxygen. Fire is one of the risks caused by the flames both small and large in place, situation and time undesired detrimental and generally difficult to control. Fires can occur in cruise ship activity. When viewed from a fire in the Motor Vessel Passenger very varied. Starting from the fire on the car deck, the deck passengers, the engine room to the bridge. A number of fires in ship Motor Vessel Passenger dominated by fire in the engine room and car decks. Fire suppression using sprinkler is one method that has been used and it can be said that this method is effective in fighting the fire. Sprinkler itself can be interpreted as a measure of a molecule. Sprinkler size is very small as grains of rain. The workings of this type of fire extinguisher is when there is a fire in the room that has been installed with this system, the indoor burning will automatically increase the indoor air temperature, the high temperature causes the potential illuminated on other components. Temperatures in the system has been installed and will work automatically at that temperature. When a fire is lit on components near a sprinkler system, it caused the high temperatures existing sensors on sprinkler. The sensor is automatically connected to the sprinkler and water out.
