Abstract

Fresh water generator is one of the important auxiliary aircraft on board. This is because using FWG (Fresh water generator) can produce fresh water which can be used for drinking, cooking, washing and even running other important machines that use fresh water as cooling media. In FWG fresh water is generally produced using evaporation methods. So the fresh water is produced by evaporation of seawater by using heat from one of the heat sources. Latief (2000), Jakarta. In freshwater productivity is often a decline, the cause is the absorption of sea water is less than the maximum due to the pump ijector salt scale deposition occurred. To overcome this need to be done how to clean the sediment of salt to suck sea water and can increase freshwater productivity. The scale on the evaporative pipes is greatly reduced against the decreasing heat temperature of the vapor pipes and reducing the production of steam. To remove the crust it needs cleaning. Not reaching the vacuum because at the turn of rubber seal on the front cover fresh water generator remnants of glue or old rubber seal flakes are not cleaned then cause the cavity causing leakage in sea water. The purpose of the discussion of fresh water generator in order to increase and expected to meet the needs of fresh water on the ship. By solving the existing problems in handling fresh water generator, it is expected that fresh water productivity can be increased as much as possible, and can meet the needs of fresh water on board.
