Abstract
The Steam Turbine at Cargo Pump is a prime mover that converts the vapor potential energy to kinetic energy and is subsequently converted to mechanical in the form of turbine shaft rotation. Turbine axle, directly or with the help of reduction gear, connected with cargo pump tanker which will be used to unload the load, dismantle the remnants of cargo / washing and tank washing, ballast and deballasting.Since turbines are very important machineries for tanker operations, the operation and maintenance of steam turbines is important to do, things to consider before operating Steam turbines are like checking oil levels on a turbine, condensing water in a turbine, check the clutch bolt condition, and many more things to consider before operating the steam turbine.One of the factors supporting the smooth operation of ships is the maintenance of steam turbines. In connection with the importance of knowing and understanding about steam turbine maintenance to reduce the risk of damage during the operation, as for the purpose are: 1. Know how to operate Steam Turbine 2. Know the parts of the steam turbine 3. Know the importance of treatment on steam turbines 4. Knowing the disturbances and how to fix them.
