Abstract
Generator is a tool that can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Mechanical energy could come from heat, water, steam, etc. The electrical energy produced by the generator in the form of AC Power (alternating electric) and DC (electrical unidirectional). It dependent of construction generator used by power plants. Generator is closely linked to Faraday. Following the results of Faraday "that if a piece of electrical wires are in a changing magnetic field, then in the wire will be formed Style Electric Motion". In order to maintain the performance of the generator, it is necessary to do maintenance and checks. So important is the role of a generator in everyday life that can generate electricity if PLN does not work. Care generator includes: generator spare parts that are worn, maintenance of good circulation, maintenance instrument cables to the generator, Distilled Water treatment at the Battrey, checking engine oil regularly. After regular maintenance, it will be detected what ever became of regular maintenance, so knowing the quality of the voltage generated in the generator and can determine the cause of damage to the generator. Based on the results of the implementation of regular maintenance on the generator can extend the life of the generator and minimize damage to the generator system. Keywords : Generator
