Abstract

In companies that do export activities, profit is the ultimate goal. One way to achieve this is by optimizing the filling of containers is to do stuffing effective and efficient. PT. Mitra Dharma Laksana is a company that has made exports. To find out the steps companies in the optimization of the charging container, conducted this study in order to determine the process of stuffing the effective and efficient in the preparation of goods into containers. The research method is descriptive qualitative with the source of the practice of apprenticeship for four months in PT. Mitra Dharma Laksana. To further described and drawn conclusions to provide a picture of the condition of the object of research obtained through the collection of data derived from interviews, data collection, and analysis of literature related to these activities. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The results obtained include the importance of an effective process of stuffing for PT. Mitra Dharma Laksana is a massive loss of property damage, and increase its profits. The company carries out the stuffing process with three main activities, namely activities before, process, and after stuffing. The company carries out optimization filling the container with a few steps that quantifies the volume of container with the volume of goods and adjust the position of the goods taking into account the ratio between the size of the container with the external dimensions of goods along with considering the requirements of a good stuffing. In the above explanation stuffing effective process efficient and optimization charging container can be concluded that the ratio of the volume of the container with the volume of goods and attention to the requirements of a good stuffing is important in making decisions about stuffing method is applied to the company. The advice given should PT. Mitra Dharma Laksana managing employee performance by forming a team for stuffing activities that meet the requirements and establish permanent export department that functions take care of all export activities in order to reach the company's goal to be expected.
