Abstract
This scientific paper is entitled “Marketing Procedure and Space Tenancy of Export Container in Swire Shipping”. The objects of this paper are PT. Bahari Eka Nusantara Semarang as the provider of space container tenancy and Swire Shipping as the tenant. In the writing of this paper, the writer used some methods. They are first observation method where the writer does the field study in PT. Bahari Eka Nusantara Semarang to analyze the activity of container space tenancy, the second is interview method where the writer does question and answer section with the Operational Staff and the Marketing Staff of PT. Bahari Eka Nusantara Semarang, the third is literature review method where the writer seeks the written references about the activity of container space tenancy, and the last is collecting data where the writer collects the documents of space container tenancy from PT. Bahari Eka Nusantara Semarang. The writer’s aim is to find out the process of marketing and the space container tenancy, the process of seeking the proper ship’s schedule, the process of making export document before the container was sent to the destination country, and the last is the process of counting the exporting charge. As the result, the writer finds that in a trade the debility and the quality of the product which is going to be sold should be known well to attract the customer’s trust so that they will buy the product, shipper decides the schedule of the ship in order to make the product arrives in the destination country on time, the making of Shipping Instruction should be thorough based on the system given by Swire Shipping because it is the source document for the other shipping documents, the shipper uses FOB (Free on Board) as the payment system for the shipping cost, and the cost counting is done in two processes the first is done by the agent of Swire Shipping at Semarang and the second is done by the agent at Singapore
