Abstract
In the Maritime Safety and how Syahbandar Task to Improve the Safety and Shipping. Monitoring carried out in the framework of setting a harbormaster infrastructure operational implementation of sea transportation is very important. This work has included the type of paper by using the techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. Method of observation by the author is to observe directly the safety and security of shipping procedures. To further improve the safety of shipping harbormaster also issued a Letter of Approval Sail (SPB) that the proposed by the shipping agent before the ship left or will leave the harbor area. Navigation has an important role in spearheading the safety of sailing useful support national marine transportation which is supporting and driving the growth of the national economy. For navigation activities aligned to be able to cover all Indonesian waters are considered risky for the safety of sailing in accordance with the conditions and the circumstances of each water as well as to meet international Governing Terms.
