Abstract
The growing need for tools of industry and transport leading to the need for fuel also increased. Given the need for oil as fuel for industrial tools and transportation no natural resources that can replace the industrial sector, of course this causes domestic demand increased so as to be able to meet these needs requires an increase in industrial fuel and it also acts as a support trade between countries. Under these conditions the facilities and infrastructure must also support particularly sea transport is the ship which is effective to move or bring in fuel from one city to another within the country and abroad. So far almost all the ship has its own agencies to expedite the processing of arrivals and departures on the ship that want to load or unloading of fuel oil. This study is to determine the extent of agent service shipping companies serving the arrival and departure of the ship. To achieve the goal of this research is done with descriptive method, to obtain the result that the shipping agent at PT. Pertamina Trans Kontinental also has a very important role in shipping activities that affect the smooth arrival and departure of ships. PT. Pertamina Trans Kontinental also help ships in mengageni arrival and departure of ships in dock belonging to PTK itself therefore many ships prefer PT. Pertamina Trans Kontinental as an agent to accelerate and facilitate the arrival and departure of ships. Keyword : Shipping Agency
