Abstract
PT. Pelindo Marine Service Surabaya is a one of the susidiaries of PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) is engaged in tugs, ship repairs, shipyard, ship logistic and marine certification. In five years, PT. Pelindo Marine Service Surabaya produces outstanding performance with the establishment of three subsidiaries. Namely PT. Pelindo Energy Logistic (PT. PEL) is engaged in oil and gas logistic, PT. Alur Pelayaran Barat Surabaya (PT. APBS) engaged in marine transportation service and PT. Berkah Multi Cargo (PT. BMC) is engaged in multimodal transportation. Unit Diklat Maritim is one of the new business unit pioneered by PT. Pelindo Marine Service Surabaya is engaged in marine certification. With the establisment of this unit maritime trainingis a new breakthrough for PT. Pelindo Marine Service Surabaya in serving the seafarers who need assistance in the updating Certificate Of Proficiency (COP) as Certificate Of Competency (COC). With the establishment of Unit Diklat Maritim PT. Pelindo Marine Service Surabaya is expected to increase the knowledge of seafarers about the importance of safety on board and also for shipping companies and sea transportation more benefited with the creation of competent human resources and more responsible for their work.
